HOTWC -HALON OPTIONS TECHNICAL WORKING CONFERENCE

The Halon Options Technical Working Conferences (HOTWCs) have been merged into Fire Suppression and Detection Research and Applications - A Technical Working Conference (SUPDET), which will be managed by the Fire Protection Research Foundation.

The U.S. Department of Defense's Next Generation Fire Suppression Technology Program (NGP), which assumed the sponsorship for the conferences from the New Mexico Engineering Research Institute (NMERI), has completed its mission and can no longer serve as host and sponsor of the HOTWCs. Nonetheless, there is evidence of continuing interest in following any new developments and applications in fire suppression science and engineering. SUPDET will combine the content and technical expertise that participants came to expect from the HOTWCs during their 16 years.

For those desiring information about the next SUPDET, please go to the Fire Protection Research Foundation web site, www.nfpa.org/foundation.

NIST will continue to host the HOTWC web site www.bfrl.nist.gov/866/HOTWC, with the cumulative papers from the HOTWCs and news of the 2007 meeting.
