BFRL’s Kedzierski Elected Fellow of ASME
Mark Kedzierski of BFRL’s Building Environment Division has been elected fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Kedzierski is being recognized for “leadership in the advancement of the fundamental understanding of refrigerant lubricant twophase heat transfer with new measurement methods.” Kedzierski has been primarily responsible for phasechange heat transfer measurements in a variety of laboratory programs, including refrigerant additives, alternative refrigerants, refrigerant/lubricant mixtures, microfluidics, and water contaminants. He developed a measurement technique for measuring lubricant excess layers during pool boiling, which has also proved to be useful for measuring water contaminants on pipe substrates.
