NEHRP Receives Award for Top Seismic Program of the Twentieth Century

On April 17, 2006, the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP) received an award for being the Top Seismic Program of the twentieth Century at a national awards dinner that was hosted by the Applied Technology Council (ATC) and Engineering News-Record magazine. The dinner was held in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary Earthquake Conference in San Francisco, Calif., which commemorated the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The NEHRP team is composed of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), NIST, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Geological Survey. NIST serves as the NEHRP lead agency and houses the NEHRP Secretariat within BFRL.
