BFRL’s Hunter Fanney Receives ASME’s John I. Yellott Award
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ (ASME) John I. Yellott Award is the most prestigious award within the society for contributions in the field of solar energy. The award, in honor of ASME’s Solar Energy Division’s first Chair, recognizes an ASME member who has demonstrated sustained leadership within the solar energy field, has a reputation for performing highquality solar energy research, and has made significant contributions to solar engineering through education, state, or government service, or in the private sector. Fanney’s numerous contributions to ASME were previously noted by his elevation to ASME Fellow in 1991. The award was presented at an awards ceremony held in conjunction with the Solar 2006 Conference in Denver, Colo. Fanney will make an invited presentation on the research that led to this award at the 2007 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Conference and Exhibition meeting.
