National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD is set

areas. Founded in 1901, NIST is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S.
Department of Commerce. NIST is conveniently located 20 miles north of Washington, DC. NIST provides shuttle service to and from the local subway system and is within reach to three major airports; Baltimore Washington International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
